Installation Steps for VERSA-LOK Mosaic
Step 3 Build Additional Courses
After the base-course has been backfilled and compacted, you can begin
to add subsequent courses. In a Mosaic wall, after the base-course of
Standard units is laid, each additional course is laid in a series of
10-inch panels. Each panel comprises one VERSA-LOK Standard unit, one
Cobble unit and two Accent units.
You can achieve a random pattern by rotating four different
configurations of the four-unit panel throughout the wall. For example,
alternate the position of the two Accent units with the Standard and
Cobble units in each panel, and randomly mix the order of the Cobble and
Standard units within the panel.
Pinning units together provides an automatic three-quarter-inch setback
and adds structural stability to the wall.
Insert two Versa-Tuff SNAP-OFF pins through the front holes in both the
Standard and Cobble units so that the pins fall into the middle slots of
the Standard units below. When possible, use the outside holes of the
Standard units. After pinning, pull the units forward to tighten the pin
connections. Then, check the alignment and level. ,
Next, place two Accent units on top of the Standard and Cobble units
with a setback of 3/4 inch. Insert two snap-off pins through the front
holes of each of the Accent units so that the pins fall into the slots
of the Standard and Cobble units below.
When possible, use the outside holes of the Accent units. Make sure the
pins are fully seated in the lower-unit slots, and then snap them off.
After pinning, pull the units forward to remove any looseness in the pin
connections.
